Capri 280 Brooklands restoration

Our most recent project is this low mileage Capri 280 Brooklands, purchased by its current owner in  1989 and garaged since 1998 with only 31000 on the clock this Brooklands is in fantastic condition with almost no major corrosion.

With no damage and very little corrosion to deal with the plan is to strip the car down and refresh the paintwork, engine and suspension.

The clutch cable locating sleve has detached itself from the bulkhead and will need welding back into place, the clutch cable has unfortunately chaffed as a result of the loose sleeve and needs to be renewed.

With such low mileage the engine with cleaned, re-gasketed, repainted and the ancilliarys/ bolts zinc coated, powdercoated or painted.

The more unique/ special bolts will be sent for re coating whilst the suspension components will be sent for blasting and powdercoating.

The main rust issues are around the bottom of the windscreen, driverside suspension top plate, battery tray and slam panel, with various areas of the lower section of the car suffering from some surface rust.

The complete lower section of the Brooklands needed to be stripped back to bare metal to remove the surface rust and treat prior to the prep and paint.

The shell prepped, primed and flatted ready for its first spash of fresh Brooklands green.

With the shell painted and polished the underside is cleaned and treated in preperation for its under body coating.
